ShouldWatch is a YouTube assistant that helps you create structured digests (verdict, summary, timeline, takeaways, critique). It is operated by MIHOMO合同会社 (Japan), company site https://www.jpmihomo.com. Product site: https://shouldwatch.app.

Data we process

• Google account identifiers (email, name, Google subject ID) when you sign in with Google — used for account session and trial usage
• Current YouTube video metadata and captions/transcripts needed to generate a digest
• Your digest history — the videos you generate digests for (video ID and title) and the resulting digests — saved to your account so it follows you across devices
• Cached digests on your device and on our servers to avoid repeat work
• Hosted trial / plan usage counters on our API

How we use data

Captions and prompts are sent to our AI providers solely to generate your digest. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. Google sign-in is used only for authentication and usage limits — not for marketing. ShouldWatch’s use of information received from Google APIs (your email, name and ID) is limited to providing and improving this single feature set.

Service providers who receive data

• DeepSeek (AI text model) — receives the video title, its captions/transcript text and your output-language setting when you generate a digest from captions.
• Google (Gemini) — for videos without captions, and only after you confirm, receives the YouTube link and analyzes the video itself to produce the digest.
• Google Sign-In — authenticates your account.
• Lemon Squeezy — our merchant of record for paid plans; it handles payment and keeps its own billing records.
• Hosting — our API and database run on a rented server.

These providers may process data outside your country. We send them only what is needed to produce your digest or run your account.

Storage

Local settings and your session token use Chrome extension storage on your device. Your digest history is stored on our hosted API (VPS) under your account, with a copy cached on your device. Account and usage records are also stored there. We process payment details only through our payment provider; we do not receive card numbers.

Your controls

You can delete your entire digest history at any time from the extension (Settings → Delete all history); this removes it from our servers and from your device. Signing out removes the local copy from that browser.

You can delete your account at any time from the extension (Settings → Delete account). This permanently removes your account, usage and digest history from our servers, cancels any active subscription, and clears the data on that device. What remains: a one-way hash of your Google ID and your used trial counts (no email or name), kept only so the free trial can’t be reset by re-registering; Lemon Squeezy’s own payment records, which it must keep by law; and shared digests of public videos in our cache, which are not linked to any account. If you can’t use the extension, email [email protected] and we will delete it for you.
